Anthony Davis wins prestigious #mvpaward after netting a record 52 points.
The New Orleans Pelicans forward thrilled the crowd on his home court in Louisiana to help the Western Conference beat the Eastern Conference 192-182.
Davis made 26 of 39 shots and scored 20 points in an entertaining final quarter to overtake Wilt Chamberlain’s record of 42 points set in 1962.
In doing so, the 23-year-old landed his first MVP trophy and became the first player to lift the award on his home floor since Kobe Bryant in 2011.
Davis said: “It was amazing. That’s what I wanted to do, get the MVP for this crowd, for this city. This one definitely means a lot to me.
“The next one I’m going to try to do is 100 points."
