The Nürburgring is a kind of “second living room” for many #bilstein employees: after all, this is where numerous suspension products are taken through their paces. But the men in blue and yellow also attend almost every race with their service truck – for example the legendary 24 hour race. The world's most challenging race track holds a magical attraction for normal car drivers as well. The German "sport auto" car magazine’s double event "Ring Klassiker" (Ring classics) and "Trackday" on August 1 and 2 now offered these fans particularly exclusive access to the Nordschleife. Overall, around 140 owners of classic cars and modern classic cars as well as ambitious sports car drivers came to the event which was accompanied by #bilstein.
The first day was dedicated to the owners of classic cars. During guided drives, they were able to learn a lot about their vehicle under the instruction of experienced instructors. The Tuesday, on the other hand, was reserved for free driving to allow the experienced sports car drivers to have some fun on the Nordschleife – the wet track meant that a lot of instinct and a good eye were needed.
The suspension experts from Ennepetal in Germany were on site on both days with exhibits, several employees and the distinctive #bilstein truck which provided an impressive backdrop. During the breaks, this gave the participants a fixed point of contact for obtaining information about special shock absorber solutions for their classic cars or the ideal upgrade for their sports cars. It became clear during numerous discussions that many of the high caliber cars were already equipped with an OE solution from #bilstein ex factory. Martin Flick, Head of Motorsport in the company, also provided insights into the development and setup of race suspensions during an exciting quick tour – an offer that was very well received.
