Teocchi celebrates first win as European champion

There is always a first time and Chiara Teocchi's maiden win as U23 European champion came at the 8th Trofeo Cooperativa Edificatrice Brugherio 82 - Memorial Berionni e Perego in Brugherio (Northern Italy) on Sunday, November 27th. The Italian rider, turning 20 next December 8th, finished her effort with a 2-second gap on Alessia Bulleri and 9 seconds on Sara Casasola.
Chiara re-affirmed her special feeling with Brugherio's course where she already claimed wins in 2012 and 2013 as a Junior and 2015 in the Women’s race. That said, it was not easy to add another one, particularly after the early wake up after taking part in World Cup Round 5 in Germany on Saturday. "It was a demanding trip, I had to wake up at 5 in the morning. Until the final lap - Chiara tells - I was part of a three-rider group, but then I was able to open a few meters advantage on my rivals, and keep it to the finish line. I feel really happy with this first success with the European champion's jersey" .
The day before, November 26th, the #teambianchicountervail athlete had finished 19th in World Cup round-5 in Zeven (Germany). The Women U23 European champion completed the race in 46:55, with a 2:12 gap from the winner Sanne Cant.
