Ducato will accompany the remains of the Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati to Krakow

Yesterday Monsignor Cesare Nosiglia, Archbishop of Turin, received two #ducato vehicles from Fiat Professional Brand. They will be used to carry out a special mission: the peregrination of the relics of the Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati to Krakow, for the World Youth Day scheduled 26 to 31 July.

The ceremony was held at the "Seminario Metropolitano di Torino" at via XX Settembre no. 83, where the Archbishop explained the details of this exceptional activity with the best-selling Fiat Professional vehicle playing a key role. The two vehicles - medium wheelbase, medium roof - were specially prepared with the best safety and functionality solutions to transport the urn and six people from the youth pastoral of the Archdiocese of Turin who will follow the peregrination.

Pointed out by Pope Francis as a model for all young people around the world, the earthly remains of the Blessed Pier Giorgio will arrive in the Polish city after a long journey in the midst of children and young people of 12 dioceses of different European countries, stopping at every place along the way with moments of prayer. The route includes over 20 stops in the following dioceses: Milan, Bolzano, Vienna, Bratislava, Katowice, Wrocław, Szczecin-Kamien, Poznan, Warsaw, Lublin, Sandomierz, Rzeszów and Krakow, where the remains will be housed from 23 to 31 July at the Holy Trinity Basilica.

The initiative of Fiat Professional, supporting the archdiocese of Turin, is part of a broader partnership with FCA engaged in putting on World Youth Day Krakow 2016. The organising committee of the #event will be able to rely on a fleet of 75 FCA cars, which will make the work of the volunteers and police simpler. The first Fiat cars, marked with the logo "World Youth Day Krakow 2016", were delivered in February to the Metropolitan Curia of Krakow, in the presence of Poland's highest ecclesiastical authorities, including Cardinal Stanisław Dziwisz, and the top management of FCA Poland. FCA has always taken an active part in organising events during past pilgrimages of Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI to Poland. It is a tradition that today repeats itself with the fleet of 75 cars that will be used during both preparations and the days of the #event, in the presence of Pope Francis who will be making his first trip to Poland.
